Is Fluff Crush Still Being Worked On?

Hey all! An update on this project is long overdue. I'll give you the short of it up front: Fluff Crush is *not* dead.

It's been a long couple years that have been full of personal struggles that have prevented me from working on this game. Wavering mental health, switching my career focus, and the stress of going through the home buying process are among the things that have negatively impacted not only my motivation to do much other than survive the day-to-day, but also my creativity as a whole. It's a depressing and anxiety-inducing feeling to have something so integral to myself as my creativity be depleted in such a way that even on the days where I had the motivation and the desire to work on projects, I couldn't get past the roadblock of creating new ideas. I feel guilty for being radio silent for so long, but I fully believe that I needed to take this time to focus on myself in order to make this game the best it can be.

I haven't been sitting around and twiddling my thumbs for the time I've been gone, though! My art has drastically improved over the years thanks to drawing nearly every day for my job. I've repeatedly taken stock of the storylines I want to include in the game and the direction dialogue will take. I believe I've become a better storyteller in the time I've been gone, as well. As such, going back to my old notes and writing for the game, it feels like I'm picking up a project that someone with a different style than I has worked on and abandoned. I need to make Fluff Crush my own again. I'm changing my workflow and I'm going to be reviewing everything and rewriting what I need to to bring the polish to this final version of the game. My spaghetti code for the demo is going to be completely rewritten from scratch to clean it up and make for a more efficient process throughout development.

But talk is cheap. While I know that I'm sincere in my new motivation and desire to pick this project up again, the only way to prove it to my audience is by showing my work. So please, keep an eye on my Buy Me a Coffee and Trello for completely free ongoing updates on the project. Big updates will also be posted as an itch.io dev log, too. I won't promise a specific regularity because life *loves* to get in the way when I do that, but I guarantee I'll post an update whenever I have something to show y'all. Thank you so much for your ongoing patience and interest in Fluff Crush. You won't be disappointed!
